May we present Hannes?
Hannes Sachsenhofer – the passionate programmer and data protection manager is the technical director of igevia.
What’s on your business card?
CTO (Note: Chief Technical Officer)
What do you do at igevia?
My job is to advance and monitor the further development of igevia from a technical point of view. I have to reconcile the medical and business requirements with the technical and legal – for example data protection – requirements.
What does your typical working day look like?
A typical day contains lots of meetings and a lot of communication: My colleagues, customers, users and even my bosses approach me with requirements, wishes or questions that need to be answered. I design software solutions, which I then develop together with my colleagues. And, as often as possible, I programm myself – that’s still the part of my work that I enjoy the most.
Thinking out of the box
What is the most exciting part about your job?
That my tasks are not only purely technical from day-to-day business, but also involve a lot of corporate strategy. In addition, I have to constantly look beyond technology (especially from a medical point of view), think about changes and legal framework conditions (e.g. GDPR) and try to reconcile all wishes and requirements with the available resources.
What is the biggest challenge?
The coordination and prioritisation of individual projects and technical developments. SAdaptions often seem to be only a small task, but in the background they mean a lot of effort in conception and programming – then it is important to weigh up and focus on the added value for our users. Not to mention legal or regulatory requirements that cannot be shaken.
